SUNDAYYYYYYYYYY, Holidayyy...rest day, chilling day...EVEN though for me it's the same thing throughout the whole week as I work from home only AND so was working on the scripting for my youtube video after a looooong time then I took a break to watch something on youtube and I found one AIB Podcast with Ranbir Kapoor having fun conversation with comedians like tanmay bhatt, rohan joshi and all AIB founders...
I watched both episodes of the podcast where it was a very honest and casual talk by Ranbir about the film industry, nepotism, flop movies, and stuff...
Note this point that this podcast was from the year 2017 and so many things were just a talk in pre- pandemic time while talking about his life, ranbir said about the drinking habits in his family and how it impacted a lot to their health in many ways and also said, it is fun in drinking and chilling but in long term, it will come again on your health and also you will age faster ...
AND when asked how now you deal with your drinking habits, he simply said, "Just surround yourself with people who don't drink and people who keep reminding you about it..."
I liked this way of overcoming bad habits, even though it's the obvious thing which most of the people know BUT still, I think its easy to say than done...
It is pretty simple to understand how to overcome any bad habit but it's not easy sometimes to do the same...
It is so true about surrounding yourself with people you want to be like...and it does work...as taking my example, I was thinking my usual day that how I really spend most of my time and as lockdown still going on, my most of the time spend on either writing or working on videos OR consuming content on social media and youtube...AND specifically, I am always around people who are conscious about their health like my parents and so it is very easy for me build a habit of not relying on the outside and rather keep a balance between my cravings and my health...
AND I believe that its not just the surroundings that change you but also the content which you consume all day, the information you fit in your mind the whole day...
AND so to even build any habit OR break any habit, surrounding yourself with people with the same objective can help a lot and also adding to this, you can consume only that type of content which helps you to make or break your habit...
ALSO, this is the thing I heard from Ankur warikoo too where he made a little change in a popular quote that goes like this...
"You are an average of five people you spend most of the time with..."
Ankur warikoo just rephrased it saying...
"In today's world, you are the average of the content you consume the whole day.."
Which I really believe to be so true...
SO, try to control what you are consuming and not your thoughts to make any habit, it is pretty easy to control what you feeding in your brain than to compare your thoughts about it...
