Its rainiiiiiiiing....(Bin Mausam barsaat)
Okay lets come to the point, so few days ago I went to my sister's house to meet her and my brother in law and to learn some work stuff from him...
I wanted to learn how he just do all his work from just laptop and earning good amount of money...
We had a great conversation on many things and I was just asking to teach me about his work so that even I can work from home with just laptop and earn same amount of money...I mean atleast I thought about it like this...
BUT
It was not that easy as it sounded, when I ask about what to do for my career like how should I think and what to decide further...
He shared his career experience which I am gonna share with you...
My brother in law's career started in 2009 by joining call center which was and is very common for basic earnings and he was there for approx 3 years and then someone advised him to learn about computers and how to operate them (Just basics) and he did...
He got the job at some office with basics of computer and he learned many more things there...but the point here is many people stop at this stage where they get some satisfactory job with good salary BUT he knew he has to change job as it will not be enough in a long term...
So, he started working in insurance company and used to do sales and eventually he got to knew about the E-commerce side where he can work for part time and can learn how to generate traffic for amazon products for any particular company...
He liked that work and slowly he started working there as a full time employee OR as a digital marketer manager who now manages all backend of the products in amazon from UK based company, like from interface, offers , discounts and sales count, he manage everything at home with just one laptop...
I was like teach me this...he was like, I can teach but I don't get salary for my work...I get my salary based on my experience with products and sales with target audience...I am getting salary because of my 12 years of experience and not just my work...
I told him what I want to do and what are my plans, from blogging to youtube to business and writing...
I asked him, if I just work at some company for part time job and side by side I can work on my own stuff, how would be that idea..?
Without even taking a second, he said,"You can't"
"Its not possible to do all at same time, you should not do 10 things at a time to get greater returns because " jack of all trades is master of none..."
Focus on one thing at a time and give your best by being an expert in that work and then try to automate your work so that you can try new things...
AND
It is a slow process, doing multiple things together will just waste your time...
I did have multiple experience from various different jobs because I was doing one job at a time and learned something new and moved on to learn new stuff...
DOn't be a multitasker, focus on one, work on it and be the best in that work and automate it then move on to stuff which you have planned..."
I got clarity even though I was still thinking how to go further as I had many plans but that was the lesson I needed at first to keep in mind...
SO, Don't be a multitasker...
